RDC - ERP SYSTEM INFO

Existing ERP Main Screen

Background:

Radio Distributing Company is a family-owned business since 1918, based out of Taylor, Michigan. Their current existing division is the flooring business. They are one of the premier flooring providers servicing all of Michigan and parts of Ohio. Their major distributor is Mannington, and their line of products includes Vinyl, Hardwood, Carpet, Laminate, and porcelain.

Problem:

RDC has vendors and dealers, relevant information could be managed via electronic data integration(EDI). The existing ERP system, one of their major concern is EDI. Currently, they are unable to successfully transfer purchase, pricing and invoicing informating electronically. Also, the existing systme has some features that are cumbersome, which they could a more clean and simplified version.  They are looking to completely overhaul a custom ERP.

Role:

Currently, the project is in the scoping and planning phase. My role in this project as a UX Analyst collaborating with the Business Analyst is to participate in the client discovery meeting, to gather the user and product requirements to draw the scope, and flow requirements for the system.

Responsibilites:

# Responsible for participating in client meetings and gathering requirements, drawing up the meeting minutes.

# Updating the scope documents with the project scope.

# Creating user data flow and persona.

# Drafting customer journey mapping.

Please reach out to me for samples.

Potential Road Blocks:

The current end users are used to work with the existing system a certain way. They are ready for a change, but there will be a learning curve.

My WorkBelt New Dashboard

User Experience Designer

Background:

My WorkBelt is a small business resource management tool. It provides resources for small business owners to manage their business needs such as project management, inventory management, time tracking, etc., using one simple easy to manage online tool. It is currently under development and a beta version will be released soon. Please reach out to me if you would like to see more design details.

Problem:

The database needed an aesthetically pleasing and user friendly interface. It was an intense resource management tool, which was feature packed and needed the User Inferface redesigned keeping the existing system architecture and site flow.

Role:

I was responsible for modifying the WorkBelt interface. As a user experience designer, my approach started with reviewing and understanding the existing product, conducting a comparative market analysis of existing products for design inspiration and feature line up.

Responsibilites:

Responsible for creating mockups and low fidelity wireframes using Balsamiq.

Transformed the wireframes into prototypes using Figma.

Created design style guides.

Road Blocks:

To help the client understand that low fidelity wireframes are not final designs and convince them of the design direction.
