Radio Distributing Company is a family-owned business since 1918, based out of Taylor, Michigan. Their current existing division is the flooring business. They are one of the premier flooring providers servicing all of Michigan and parts of Ohio. Their major distributor is Mannington, and their line of products includes Vinyl, Hardwood, Carpet, Laminate, and porcelain.
RDC has vendors and dealers, relevant information could be managed via electronic data integration(EDI). The existing ERP system, one of their major concern is EDI. Currently, they are unable to successfully transfer purchase, pricing and invoicing informating electronically. Also, the existing systme has some features that are cumbersome, which they could a more clean and simplified version. They are looking to completely overhaul a custom ERP.
Currently, the project is in the scoping and planning phase. My role in this project as a UX Analyst collaborating with the Business Analyst is to participate in the client discovery meeting, to gather the user and product requirements to draw the scope, and flow requirements for the system.

My WorkBelt is a small business resource management tool. It provides resources for small business owners to manage their business needs such as project management, inventory management, time tracking, etc., using one simple easy to manage online tool. It is currently under development and a beta version will be released soon. Please reach out to me if you would like to see more design details.
The database needed an aesthetically pleasing and user friendly interface. It was an intense resource management tool, which was feature packed and needed the User Inferface redesigned keeping the existing system architecture and site flow.
I was responsible for modifying the WorkBelt interface. As a user experience designer, my approach started with reviewing and understanding the existing product, conducting a comparative market analysis of existing products for design inspiration and feature line up.
Responsible for creating mockups and low fidelity wireframes using Balsamiq.
Transformed the wireframes into prototypes using Figma.
Created design style guides.
To help the client understand that low fidelity wireframes are not final designs and convince them of the design direction.

The Product:
Gale Business Plan Builder is an online business planning tool with a step-by-step guide for starting and managing a business or nonprofit. The program guides the users through different areas to delvelop a business plan focused on long-term success.
The Problem:
The program was tested with University of Michigan non-business undergrad students as part of their elective business course. The students were required to use the program and create a business plan. At the end of the course they were surveyed on the usability of the program.
My Role:
1. Reviewed and analyze the survery results.
2. Reviewed the Business Plan Builder, and conduct a comparitive market analysis with other existing products.
3. Set up usability testing with non-business related users, responsible for recruiting partipants as well.
4. Responsible for setting up tasks and scenario.
5. Set up pre-test, post-test and exit questionnaires.
6. Conduct remote modulated user testing sessions via zoom.
7. Analyze test results and provide product enhancement recommendations to improve user experience. See attached Gale Usability Test report.
Role:
As a User Interface Developer transformed photoshop designs into functional HTML pages as microsites for promotional sweepstakes.
Participated in design discovery and review meetings, to provide design insights from a developer standpoint.
Collaborated with peer developers, designers, software engineers, quality engineers, and project managers to ensure deliverables are met on time.
Tools used:
Include Photoshop, Dreamweaver, template toolkit, Bugzilla, and svn.
Role:
Developed mock-ups and storyboards. Conducted market research to provide a feasible solution for the client that meets the site requirements and budget, an eCommerce site that can be customized by the client.
Designed and created an online jewelry catalog for a locally owned small business owner selling personal jewelry, catering to women. Catalog management including uploading photos, editing, and updating inventory. Training the user on how to use the site and modify content.
